My work brings feelings to the surface by representing emotions and everyday situations, but the style fluctuates depending on each project, some pieces are abstract and others are representational. ctuates depending on each project
Statement
I am an independent artist, spiritual coach, and creator of Artwork for the Soul classes, based in Rochester, New York that offers a range of supportive artistic services to include art classes and counseling. I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and in 2021 retired from 27 years of service in the U.S. Army with over 29 years of sobriety.
Biography
Artwork For the Soul (AFTS) was formed in 2019 as a sole proprietorship and in 2024 was formed as an LLC.
My experience entails 27 years of military experience where I worked as a Career/Life Counselor, Master Resiliency Trainer, Suicide Prevention, and Unit Prevention Leader planning, implementing, and executing unit level substance abuse programs.
I have been a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) since April 2020 and certified in Public Speaking and Facilitator since 2021. My education includes a BS in Criminal Justice and a BA in Religion. CASAC certification is in progress.

CAREER OBJECTIVE
Innovative artist experiences participating in 4 exhibitions. Commissioned by the private sector to create personal pieces as well as vending in various art shows throughout the city. Seeking to incorporate art as a healing source within communities by teaching how art can be used as an alternative to violence as well as a tool in recovery.

EXPERIENCE
Commissioned by Loomis to create a mural in the workplace to keep co-workers motivated and inspired. Created various art pieces for exhibition including multi-media paintings and sculpture. Continually growing a network of clients and connections, resulting in sales of over 50 pieces of art. Commissioned to teach art classes in the Rochester Downtown Public Library.
